“You aren’t lying to yourself, you are just being optimistic.”
Wishcast is a weather app that shows the best case for the weather you’re hoping for: Nice & Pleasant, Sunny, Snow, Rainy, Wild Weather or Cool Evenings. For each day of the week ahead it looks at more than 200 forecasts from up to 26 global and regional weather models, every member of up to 11 ensembles, and the US National Weather Service, MET Norway and Apple Weather, and for each value (high, low, rain, snow, clouds, wind) it picks the one that best fits your wish. Values can come from different forecasts, so a Wishcast day is a wish, not a prediction.
Wishcast is free, has no ads and no in-app purchases.

Wishcast has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer doesn’t receive any data about you.
Your saved places, your chosen wish and your preferred temperatures are stored only on your device (shared with the Wishcast widget on the same device). Deleting the app deletes them.
To get forecasts, Wishcast sends the latitude and longitude of the place you’re viewing to these weather services. The requests go directly from your device, so each service also receives your device’s IP address, as with any internet request. Each acts independently under its own terms:
Wishcast doesn’t send these services anything else about you.
Wishcast only asks for your location if you tap “Use Current Location”. It reads your location then, saves it as one of your places on your device, and uses its coordinates to request forecasts as described above. It doesn’t track your location in the background.
Wishcast doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.

It uses real forecasts, but it shows the best case for your wish, mixed from many of them: the high can come from one forecast and the low from another. For plans that depend on the weather, check an official forecast. In the app, tap the ? button for “How Wishcast Works”.
It’s how many of that day’s forecasts show the same high and low as displayed. A small number means you’re looking at an outlier.
The main list shows 7 days. “Pick a Future Date” goes up to about six months out. Past a week it’s labeled a long shot, and past two weeks a wild guess.
Wishcast follows your device’s settings for temperature and measurement units.
